I have to agree with OnTheWayOut, JWfacts and Lisa and others. You don't need the Watchtower or for that matter any other religion to be a good moral person. Many of my atheist or agnostic friends have as good if not better morals than I do. Once you know it is a load of BS you need to figure out a plan of escape and get out. It might not happen overnight but you need to get out of there. The problem with faking being a JW is that in the long run you are doing harm to yourself and others. What happens if you son needs a blood transfusion? Do you tell him to go to college or to pioneer? If you don't believe it do you tell your son not to go in field service or do you allow him to waste his time trying to convert others? There is always the possibilty that he may find some poor suckers and draw the in. How would you feel about that? How do you react when some one new comes to the hall? Do you tell them to run like hell or say how pleased you are to see them here? I know others will disagree with me here but I really don't see how anyone can remain a JW once the know it is all a lie without harming themselves and others.

Here's what I learned at our DC.....
by sir82 inwhen people say "armageddon may come, but not in my lifetime", that is a "satanic inspired error".. how do you overcome it?.
why, looking a it that way, adam's rebellion was less than a week ago!
jesus was here on earth just the day before yesterday!

So you are full of pride if you don't listen to someone who refers to themself as a glorious ones. I think the "glorious ones" might have a little problem with pride.
Reliability and accuracy....now there are two words that come to mind when you think of the Watchtower's track record.
I can't imagine ever having to waste a good weekend listening to that BS.

The CO and his wife have no home
by not bitter ini know some have a flat or apartment that they can go to on the odd week off but i believe that the majority have no base to call home.. my parents have the co and wife stayng this week again and i asked my mum about it.
she says that if they do get the any time off they go to her mothers to stay but thats only every few months.
i just can't imagine having to live out of a suitcase in someone elses home constantly.. how to they not crack up.

I remember witnesses making fun of other religions because their ministers could retire and had retirement plans in place for themselves. People who listen to the Watchtower make bad life choices from the lowly magazine peddler right up to the boys at the top.

Welcome to the forum James. Tomorrow when I have time I'm going go back and read all your post.
On the oral sex thing. Years ago an xjw I knew was telling me about a conversation he had with a woman who had left the witnesses. She had become a JW but her husband never did. In the early seventies when the WT said oral sex was wrong (I believe they said fornication) she refused to have it with him even though they both enjoyed it. This eventually lead to divorce. When he mentioned to here that the Watchtower had change their mind and now oral sex was a matter of conscience she broke down in tears because she was till in love with him and following the Watchtower had cost her her marriage.

Caleb's Prayer To Jehovah After Trashing Sparlock To Keep Jehovah From Experiencing A Major Depression
by frankiespeakin inplease click the louis armstrong video and read.. dear jehovah i approach you in jesus name this is what i want to say:.
yesterday i tossed my farvorite toy "sparlock the warrior wizard" in the garbage can because my mommy who is one of your witnesses said it would make you sadly depressed.
i beg for your forgiveness in jesus name, if i had known before hand i would have never excepted this gift from johnny my worldly friend who mommy said was most likely going to be destroyed at armageddon because his parents are worldly and make you very sad because they are not jehovah's witnesses like my parents.. and after thinking the matter over i decided to burn sparlock just to make sure you forgive me, i'm so so sorry i made you sad please don't take my life at armageddon.

If burning Sparlock is not enough to make you happy again and get over your sadness I would gladly do anything else just to make sure your OK and not sad
Jehovah wants you to pioneer for three years while standing on your head. That will make him happy again.

The self-made PARADOX of "witnessing" without Television or Radio
by Terry inwhat if i asserted the following as true?
the watchtower bible and tract society has no interest in an effective evangelical program of conversion.. .
would that sound silly?

To me it makes sense that a big part of Rutherfords power trip was to gain wealth and power by owning and controling real estate. Ray Kroc of McDonald's fame found out early when he hired Harry Sonneborn that the real money to be made in Mc Donald's was by leasing and then subleasing real estate to the franchisees not selling burgers.
I remember in the years just before 1975 it was seen as a lack of faith if you were saving money to purchase a home. I knew JWs who sold their homes in order to be able pioneering. Many of them never recovered financially. Little did I know that at the same time the Watchtower was on a buying spree purchasing real estate.
Rutherford never minded throwing his witnesses under the bus as long as it got attention and he wasn't one of the ones being run over. The same holds true with the Governing Body.
Good info.

Is very egotistical to believe that the most thing to happen in all human history will happen in your lifetime. Many people over thousands of years have believed this and they were all wrong. Why are you so sure you are any different than them?
